At You Ukes, we really believe that the best way to learn the ukulele is in the company of like-minded individuals who love playing together. The You Ukes Series of Arpeggio Workshops is designed to introduce you to the basics of playing arpeggios (finger picking), to help you develop your skills and technique in this area and to enable you to play and write you own arpeggio patterns to accompany the songs you enjoy the most. In the workshops themselves, you will play along with your workshop leaders and fellow participants, you will work through simple exercises and activities designed to give you the opportunity to practice and develop your uke-skills and you will learn to play many different arpeggio patterns.

The first two workshops (BA1 & BA2) in this series are suitable for beginners who have completed at least one of our Beginners Workshop Programmes (or can play to an equivalent level) and are confident in playing Beginners level chords and rhythms (see Beginners Workshop details for guidance). The next two workshops in this series (BBA1 & BBA2) are be suitable for individuals who have complete at least one of our Beyond Beginners Workshop Programmes (or can play to an equivalent level) and are confident in playing some Beyond Beginners level chords and rhythms (see Beyond Beginners Workshop details for guidance). It is recommended that you have a ukulele with a Low-G tuning for these workshops, but this is not essential. The final two workshops in this series (IA1 & IA2) are only suitable for individuals who have completed at least two consecutive Beyond Beginners Workshop Programmes (or can play to an equivalent level) and are confident in playing Beyond Beginners level chords and rhythms without reference to diagrams (see Beyond Beginners Workshop details for guidance). To get the most out of these workshops you will need to have a ukulele with a Low-G tuning.

Each workshop will be two-and-a-half hours in duration, consisting of three 40 min sessions with two 15 min tea / coffee breaks. In each session, you will be guided through a series of exercises designed to help you develop the skills necessary to play arpeggios at the different levels.

Each workshop session will run with a minimum of four participants, but places are limited to a maximum of ten. Workshops will run in Farncombe / Godalming and the venue arranged nearer the time. Places MUST be booked at least one-week in advance of the workshop.
