The Seasons of Life
Written by David Faraday
Verse 1
The sun’s on the drive and I’m happy to be alive,
The birds in the sky, fly by, I’d like to give that a try sometime.
The wind’s in my hair, I’ve not a care, but a desire to share,
Because the leaves in the breeze, make a noise that is quite a surprise sometimes
Chorus
If we take the time to appreciate,
The different seasons of life, oh it’s not too late.
To recognise that we change and it’s never the same,
‘Oh these seasons flow on through our life
Verse 2
The rain splashes down and I’m happy to be alive,
Those dogs and those cats are a fact, oh in all of our lives, sometimes.
When the snow’s on the roof, I have proof, no reasons left to deny,
That the progress we make is assured, but can be quite a surprise sometimes.
Bridge
So, fly on high like those birds in the sky
And never forget how it feels
And listen close to those leaves in the breeze,
never forget that it’s real.
Verse 3
The sun’s on the drive and I’m happy to be alive,
That sun beating down, is a reminder, that the rain will return sometimes.
Those seasons roll on, and on, we see them passing us by,
But progress we make is assured, but it is quite a surprise sometimes.
Chorus
Outro
So, whether sun or the rain no mind, I bet you’ve guessed,
The single thought in my mind, it’s there for you to assess.
So sing along with me now, I’m happy to be alive,
Yes, I said, I’m happy to be alive,
Oh, remember I said, that I’m happy to be alive.
I’m happy to be alive!
